SBI Recruitment 2025-26 : India’s largest public sector bank, State Bank of India (SBI), is all set to launch its biggest recruitment drive in nearly a decade. In the financial year 2025-26, the bank plans to recruit around 18,000 candidates across various roles. This includes clerical staff, probationary officers (POs), and tech-based system officers.

Focus on Technology Hiring
SBI Managing Director C.S. Setty highlighted that a significant part of this recruitment will focus on technology. Around 1,600 tech professionals will be recruited as system officers. Setty emphasized that SBI remains fully committed to investing in technology and digital transformation.

“We never restrict our technology spending. These hirings show our strong push toward a tech-driven future,” said Setty.
SBI’s Financial Outlook and Strategy
Despite a challenging interest rate environment, SBI aims to maintain a Return on Assets (RoA) of over 1% during FY26. Setty also stated that the bank would align deposit interest rate adjustments with repo rate movements to protect its Net Interest Margin (NIM).
He further added that SBI is targeting a consistent Return on Equity (RoE) of 15% or more through all business cycles.
